Message from the President
Last year at this time, the board made a decision to bring our meetings to the downtown area and hold them either morning or at the lunch time. I would like to report back that with this move. We are seeing increase of attendance and more importantly a larger variety of members. We made these changes due to shrinking attendance and we could no longer afford venue and meal costs. I have heard from several members they are enjoying NEW format because they can attend during the day; we get right to the program; and we still have great educational information.
I hope to see you at one of our upcoming meetings!
Andrea Bettger, Greater Seattle President
February Program
Tim Westhoff CRM will be presenting Electronic Records Storage and Retrieval in a Regulated Industry. I am very excited to hear Westhoff finally speak about his work. You may wonder why I am very interested in hearing from Westhoff. Simple answer—he is working now how records mangers will be working in the future—a completely electronic environment!
This presentation will focus on the long-term storage and retrieval of electronic records in a regulated industry. Including information on regulatory compliance - how to comply, why compliance is important, and the possible consequences of non-compliance. Discussion will also cover the following: vendor selection and management; the appropriate methods of transferring records to a third-party electronic records storage site; and records security during the transfer process. Finally, helpful hints that Westhoff has learned through the years of experience working as an effective manager of electronic records.
