ARL/SAA Mosaic Program: Tuition/ Scholarship

Association of Research Libraries/Society of American Archivists' Mosaic Program

REMINDER: Applications are due on Friday, August 23, 2013

This program promotes much-needed diversification of the archives and special collections professional workforce by providing tuition assistance, practical work experience, mentoring, career placement guidance, and leadership development to emerging professionals from underrepresented racial and ethnic minority groups. An important objective of the program is to attract and retain individuals who demonstrate excellent potential for scholastic and personal achievement and who manifest a commitment both to the archives and special collections profession and to advancing diversity concerns within it.

all application materials must be received by ARL by the August 23rd deadline. 

This program is funded by a generous grant from the Institute of Museum of Library Services (IMLS) as well as ARL and SAA.

Snohomish County Records Technician Temporary

Records Technician in Snohomish County’s Planning and Development Services (PDS) department.  The assignment is full time through the end of the year.

These are the key duties for the assignment:

 

1.       Work with 2015 Plan Update Project Management team to implement record management and indexing protocols for paper and electronic records, including emails. Implement written procedures for managing, storing and destruction of electronic and paper records associated with the development of the 2015 Plan Update that are consistent with the Public Records Act, the state Records Retention Schedule and any relevant County procedures and protocols.

2.       Maintain the systems for records management for this large project in the long range planning division.  This will require reviewing and indexing records, and destroying records consistent with the state Records Retention Schedule and maintaining the legislative record.

3.       Serve as a member of the 2015 Plan Update Project Management team, receiving day-to-day direction from the project manager for the 2015 Plan Update. Provide record management and indexing assistance to 2015 Plan Update project team members.

4.       Coordinate with Records Specialists to research and provide information for public records requests associated with the 2015 Plan Update.

5.       Coordinate with PDS records management staff, records management staff in other departments and County agencies.

6.       Assist records room staff with scanning, storing, indexing, copying, researching and provision of information pertaining to land use and permit records and maps as may be requested by County staff or by the general public.

7.       Assist other project managers with records management and record indexing as requested.

 

Strong skills in electronic file management (Word, Excel, Outlook, and ADOBE) are preferred. Additional experience with MSProject and WordPress would also be beneficial.

 

 

The salary range for a full-time Records Technician is $3,181.14 - $3, 868.68 per month
