The sun finally arrived in Seattle and I hope you are enjoying it. For some of you May is your last meeting, for others it is June, but either way the 2012-2013 ARMA year is coming to an end. I hope you have had a great year full of educational sessions and networking opportunities.
This year we’ve focused on some of the building blocks that you in your profession. We’ve talked about ARMA, reading, technology and a variety of other blocks. But we haven’t covered one of the most essential building blocks…YOU. Yes, you are an essential building block to not only your own career but to others as well. From seeking out educational opportunities networking to researching issues and case studies and applying them in your organization, you are vital to yourself and others.
Your support of the profession, of advancing records and information management in your organization and taking the time to share your experiences helps us all in our own building blocks. From the “newbie” who brings a fresh insight into the profession to the seasoned veteran who brings experiences to share (and sometimes commiserate with!) with others, each of us helps support each other.
So I want to take a few minutes to say THANK YOU! Thank you for sharing your experiences, thank you for continuing to support ARMA and the records management profession and thank you for being you!
I hope everyone has a wonderful summer, although there won’t be regular chapter meetings during the summer months, ARMA International has several webinars that members can view. If you find yourself missing those educational sessions, check one out!
And of course there is still the Great Northwest Region Leadership conference June 21st and 22nd in Olympia, Washington. Any member of the Great Northwest Region is welcome to join us, more details will be sent out in May.
